Hallo Zusammen,

es geht um die Erstellung von Factory-Assets, deren Schlüsselparameter bei der Verwendung mit AutoCAD angepasst werden können. So wie hier die 1500 mm Läge:

Das funktioniert bei mir auch problemlos, solange die Assets aus einem einzelnen Bauteil bestehen.

Problematisch wird es bei mir, wenn ich das Gleiche mit Baugruppen versuche.

Als Test habe ich einen einfachen Quader, bei dem eine Kantenlänge als Schlüsselparameter definiert ist. Als Einzelteil.ipt funktioniert alles wie gewünscht.

Sobald aber zwei der Quader in eine Baugruppe.iam eingebaut (und die Parameter in die Baugruppe Verknüpft) werden, werden im AutoCAD Änderungen am Schlüsselparameter Test_Länge nicht mehr übernommen.

Wie muss die Baugruppe definiert werden, damit das funktioniert?

Thanks for moving the topic.

The issue is creating factory assets from assemblies. Goal is to set keyparameters to modify the asset in AutoCAD (like the 1500 mm length in the first picture).

If the asset contains only one part, everything is working fine.

But if the assets generated from an assembly (like shown in the second picture) with the keyparameters linked to the .iam, modifying them in AutoCAD doesn’t work.

So, how have the parameters to be defined to make the asset modifiable?

Hi,

You need to change the parameter using the Factory Properties panel. You shouldn't need to link the parameters from the part.

how can I mark the parameters as key parameters (or make them accessible in the factory properties) without linking them to the part?

Changing them in the factory properties (after publishing the assembly to the factory library) is what I tried. I could change the value but the object did not adopt it, eg. the length stayed at 1500mm, even if set to 2500 or whatever.

I am sorry I misunderstood your issue yesterday. If you have an assembly that links to parameters in a part, those parameters are read-only. You won't be able to change the value of those parameters in Inventor's Parameters dialog. That's why changing the parameters in Factory Properties won't work. In fact, those parameters should probably be hidden in Factory Properties.

In order to achieve what you want, you can create an parameter in your assembly asset, and write an iLogic rule to propagate the value of the assembly parameter to the part parameter. Something like this:

Using iLogic in Inventor works great, thanks!

But is there a way to get the asset also parameterizeable in AutoCAD? I like the workflow to create a (rough) layout in 2D and use Inventor only for the 3D-Parts. Having to jump between ACAD and Inventor seems like a break in the workflow.

I wonder how some system assets like the belt conveyors were created? Neither extruding all contours in one part nor deriving (deducing? “ableiten”) the assembly sounds convincing.

You can only specify parameters when publishing an asset from Inventor. One idea is to use placeholder assets like boxes in your rough layout and change their sizes as you need to. You can later replace them with the final assets.

This may be obvious, but just for completeness' sake: if you publish a parameterized asset in Inventor, you'll be able to use it in ACAD, including changing the parameter values

Took me some time to realize, that iLogic also works without Forms. Now the workflow is as expected.
