Very possible that it's a registry issue. I most likely installed the older version of Eagle on Windows 7, then upgraded the system to 10. Any way it goes, I'm not doing that again, at least, I don't plan to.

Thank you for the prompt reply!

Yesterday I installed Eagle 9.6.1. I had Eagle 9.5.? on the same machine, don't quite recall why I was compelled to install a new version rather than update what I had. Anyway, I realized I had duplicate versions of Eagle, so I went in and uninstalled ONE of them... but the uninstaller cleaned them BOTH out. That's not cool. Luckily I still had the one I downloaded yesterday in my downloads directory... but I'm hoping I didn't lose any data in this shuffle. Both 9.5 and 9.6 were represented in the Programs And Features list in Windows Control Panel; so I'd hope they were independent... but they're apparently not.

So basically I'm talking about two possible issues here:
1) Installer of 9.6 didn't clean up 9.5. There may be a reason for this, that's OK, but then ...
2) Uninstaller for 9.5 cleaned up 9.6 as well.

Hi @robLBYMJ

the installation of EAGLE always goes into a separate folder. You can have several EAGLE installations at the same time on your computer. This is done intentionally because we want you to be able to maintain your older projects with the EAGLE version you cerated it.

The uninstall should uninstall the version selected only, and not all EAGLE versions at the same time. But I have not heard about such problems yet, and I can not reproduce this on my Windows 10 machine. All works well... Maybe this was caused by an error in the Windows registry...... 🤔

Best regards,
