Managed Libraries - Eagle Library corrupted after pushing from Fusion 360

Hi, since yesterday i have a problem with my managed library.
Something must went wrong while i pushed an design update from Fusion 360.
As i refreshed my managed library in Eagle to the latest version, i got <polygonshape> errors.
When i delete the <polygonshape> as example from line 672 to line 688,
the failure for this line is solved until i merge or push the managed librarie.

I reinstalled Eagle.
I removed the Document Folder
I removed AppData Eagle Folder.
I made a backup of my managed library before this problem started (I work on several Workstations).
When i "Update all assets to the lates version" my backup library also gets corrupted.
I still can work with the library itself, but always when i open it in eagle i get a ".rpt".
I invested many hourse in this project, so i hope i there is a way to fix this.

Because i could't upload the ".rpt" i added the format ".txt" at the end.
Because i could't upload the ".lbr" i zipped it.

At the moment i try to reproduce the problem.

With the first error Line it says "<polygonshape> error on line 792".

Compared to the backup file there should only be a <polygon>.

Based on the structure and information i see, probably its a failure in the "package : SMT" and "layer : 21".

I could solve the problem, but couldn't find the cause.
Several polygon shapes where missing in footprints as also in symbols.
I fixed it by modifying it and generating a new version.
The missing parts i had to copy from my backup library.
When i am not wrong, there is no real repository or backup system, this would be a imported thing to have.

Today i located the problem / bug.

If an symbol or footprint contains a polygon, the file gets corrupted after pushing it to library.io and updating it in eagle.

For the moment i removed the library from library.io / fusion and made an eagle library 7.x copy.

The library is fresh in clean without any 3D model.

After there is a fix for this i will create a new managed library and add the fusion 3d backup files.

If anyone can confirm this or has a workardound to fix the problem, i would be greatful.

I also noticed, you can push as many changes you want: The "push changes" information will not disapear.

Hi @LaCocoRoco,

I hope this message finds you well. Fusion360 Electronics uses a different polygon system compared to EAGLE. If you are pushing back to a managed library in EAGLE I would figure that it would work.

If you are already working in Fusion and making parts in it I'm not sure why you would do the electronics design back in EAGLE? Could you provide more background to your use case?

Hi @jorge_garcia , you are correct, i do all my electronic designs in eagle.

I will explain my workflow, probably i do something wrong:

1. As example, i make a local copy of the library for "Eagle 7.x" (Now i have a copy of my library without any 3D package).

2. Then i generate a managed library out of it (At this point it generated 3D model placeholder).

3. Now i download the managed library in fusion.

4. Then i open the package (On the first time it says reference, you have to copy to modify).

5. I insert my 3D model from fusion into the package.

6. Safe and push new version.

7. Open library in eagle, click on update and its corrupted.

I do not even touch footprints or symbols in fusion.

I only tried to pin point whats causing the issue.

If there is a workaround, i am happy.

Hi @LaCocoRoco,

My main question is about step 3. The only way to download a managed library into Fusion360 is by linking it. Is that what you are doing?

You can also add the 3D model in EAGLE itself, without having to go into Fusion if that's what you want to do?

Thank you @jorge_garcia for the support.

I can't say i don't have any more issues, but this was the most significant one.

Probably i recognized some other things, so i will write them just in case.

1. Fusion 360: I have an already removed and deleted electronics library in the managed library view, which does not disapear. It was the first library i made. If i try to delete or edit it, nothing happens. (Probably connected to the current problem).

2. Fusion 360: When i select a package in electronics library, right click and change description, after pushing a new version it gets reseted (I fixed this by change the description in eagle, so it is not trivial).

3. Fusion 360: If you export a .f3d file of an electronic model, after import you can't modify nor delete sketch like silkscreen, pad or text.

4. Fusion 360: This is neither a bug, no a real problem, more a workflow issue. When i edit an package the first time, it makes a local copy so i can modify it. I can copy elements into it or start something from scratch, but i would prefer to completly replace the content of it or the file itself with one of mine. There is the way to insert a model, delete the element and expand its content, but thats no beautiful solution.

If prefered, i could also make screencast to the mentioned problems.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

There is a known issue that when you push a new version to library.io quickly when the library is not finished to save in Fusion 360, you may see the Upload icon there.

As a workaround, I'd suggest you wait for the new library is saved completed and then push a new version. For this library which already has the issue, please create a new one instead.

Thank you very much for the reporting.

I could reproduce the issue #2 you mentioned, the problem is the description of 3D package is replaced by the description of footprint after creating new version. So the workaround is to modify the description of footprint instead and then push a new version. Hope it helps a little bit.

Could you please share a short video about issue #1 and #3?
