When using modules like that I generally don't show the header on the schematic. I tend to draw the footprint in such a way that the headers are implied on the silk screen. It seems to me that the use of headers for plugging in such a module is equivalent to the use of DIL IC sockets back in the day. We generally didn't show those sockets on the schematic.

Super noob question I'm embarrassed to say. I want to include a NodeMCU in a PCB (my first ever attempt at this) I intend to have the NodeMCU sitting in 2x 15 pin female headers. Do I need to include these in the schematic or is it just implied that the headers will be used. I guess either way the PCB will have the same number of holes in the same places so the headers don't need to be included in the schematic?
Sorry for the dumb question and thanks in advance!!

Tony

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply. I skipped them and finished my first circuit - took all evening but very satisfying! Have a great weekend! 🙂
