Whenever I try to copy a package that I downloaded from SnapEDA or Ultra Librarian from its standalone library into one of my existing libraries I get a dialog stating that "A different version of footprint ______ is already present in this file". This is occurring in situations where the footprints clearly don't match in name, geometry, or number of pins. See attached screenshot for one example.

Does anyone have ideas on how to work around this? It's not clear to me what aspect of the footprints the library manager is seeing as the same in the attached example.

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi @finyoop ,

I guess the footprint you would like to copy into your library has the same name as one of the footprints already in your library. With a different number of pads, different names or different locations of the pads it is not possible to match them correctly.

You could change the name of the footprint in the Ultra Librarian or SnapEDA library first and then copy it.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

I have the same issue that @finyoop is having. Importing a library has conflicting footprints. Does anyone have a solution to this?

@RichardHammerl It seems like you didn't look at the picture that @finyoop uploaded. Or you are looking at something other than the obvious name of the footprint, and I am completely missing your point. The names of the footprints are different, yet Fusion does not allow the import.
