I've been ble to confirm that EAGLE 4.03 is supported only on 32 bit systems. If you wanted to continue to use this on your new computer, your best bet may be to look into a 32 bit emulator of some sort, in a virtual evironment. Good luck!

I have an old version of Eagle 4.03 bought it years ago and still use it for hobbies. Retired 12 years ago. It works great on my old computer with windows 10 but will not install on my new computer with windows 10. The old computer has 32 bit system and the new one is 64 bit if that's causing the problem. Also the new computer has the windows pro version install - is that causing a problem?
I would greatly appreciate any info on what to try.
Thanks for all replies.
Mike

Hi Mike,

I'm not personally familiar with EAGLE, but I suspect it may be a 32 vs 64 bit issue. I'm working to confirm if that is correct or not. I'll follow up as soon as I hear something.

If anyone else knows... feel free to jump in! 😀

This is an older version of the platform, ported to both 32bit and 64bit systems. If you have a 64 bit OS, you still can't use both Eagle 64bit and 32bit because Eagle didn't work for 32 bit OS.
And about the operating system: if you are talking about windows 10, it has a special version called ""Eagle for Windows 10"" (it's called the 64-bit version). You can use Eagle on it just like on previous versions of windows mysoftwarekeys.com. I use this version of the platform as it has been updated to windows 10 update 1709 for a long time, and it works well.

Thank you for the reply. I found out my old version of Eagle is a 16 bit program. It works fine on my old 32 bit computer and nothing made it work on the 64 bit computer I bought. So, my old computer mainly just needed a new power supply and now I'm back with my old computer just for Eagle.
Thank you for your reply and for now I'm back in business.
Mike
