Altium to Eagle/Fusion Migration difficulties

Hello all,

I am new to Eagle/Fusion 360 softwares and I am trying to move an important Altium project (30+ sheets) to Eagle OR Fusion360. Only schematics and library. I will then route this project on Eagle/Fusion.
I read several topics on this forum with similar issues but after few days I am still blocked.

First I tried to import .IntLib Library directly on Library.IO without success, file is correctly upload as I can download it in its original form but conversion is stucked at 0%. It is impossible to download the "import" version either to delete the file... Then I tried with both .schlib and .pcblib, it worked perfectly with the .pcblib but same problem with .schlib. Maybe it is due to the use of some "Vault" components...

In a second time I tried to do it locally. I exported altium project with P-CAD exporter. After few days I managed to get a pretty correct schematic. With diferent ULP I retrieved components name, re-assigned correct values, etc.

Problem, all the imported components are marked as _EXTERNAL_ and after I assigned to it a footprint it does not change and I can not create an associated PCB... I tried to remove this attribute with different ULP or manually, but impossible to update those modifications on the schematic...

Is there a possibility to import correctly the library either in Eagle or Fusion (I don't mind) ? And then import all the schematics associated to this "cleaned" library.

If you have a solution to delete crashed libraries on Library.IO it will also be helpful.

Hello all,

I made some new tests without success.

I cleaned up the Altium libray, there is no more vault component, each part have a footprint, I checked all the parameters (no special characters, parameter name is less than 20 characters, etc.). Still can't convert it on library.IO. Upload is OK, but progression is stucked to 0%...

When I try to import my project in Eagle, I still have some problems.

- The schematic library seems to be quite correctly imported : I still have some devices imported with 2 symbols without reason

For example this resistor is imported with 2 symbols but in my Altium library I don't have the "

CMP-1012-00171-2_1_I" symbol...
I also remarked that descriptions of components are not imported and that parameters/attributes are marked as "defined by part", except the _EXTERNAL_ one.

- Footprints are not imported and then not linked to devices as you can see in the screenshot above.
I tried with an external Altium IntLib and with attached to project libraries as recommended but it does not work in both cases...

My library.IO start to be a mess due to the crashed import, if you also have a solution for this, it will be appreciate.

Hi @julienTD47Z ,

I hope you're doing well. In general, importing an Altium design and having it be consistent in EAGLE is more work than just redrawing it in EAGLE. Given the case that you have a 30 page schematic involved I would expect that to be even worse.

Now the libraries should be coming in through library.io, would you be willing to share the files for review. I could ask a developer to check them out and see what's going on with the import.

Thank you for your reply. For sure and I have other projects to export after this one, that's why I really want to have something as perfect as possible. It will take too much time to redraw all the schematics and boards...

You'll find attached a sample of the library I want to import in Eagle.

EDIT : I find the origin of the "double symbol". Some vault components had "alternate" symbol in Altium, I had to remove it manually.

No need to redraw.
