Is there a plan for windows font on the roadmap

In fact, It's two question:

one is in PCB, EAGLE has two types of font, but many of us think it is a little ugly. why not add the windows font for user? it is also vector font. it is importent for multi-byte language. not use "import from bmp````".

another is the path and file name, though EAGLE can "see" the multi-byte language file name, but it can't open yet, else give a error message. of cause, this is under windows system.

the last question, someone talk me that why give a choice for negative film or negative photograph in 4-layer board ? it is spend too more resource of CPU for positive film.

Different fonts is very long standing request but hopefully it's something they can get round to more quickly now. Any font would have to be available cross platform or it may lead to compatibility issues when opening designs on different platforms so it may be better for the fonts to be built in to EAGLE rather than just using system fonts.

Hi @huayuliang,

I hope you're doing well. As Rachael has described to maintain cross-platform compatibility the fonts would be embedded into EAGLE. With that said this is an area that will see improvements shortly.

When you mention "multi-byte" language, it sounds like you are asking for UTF-8 or equivalent support in EAGLE. We have an open ticket for this at the moment so I'll add your comments there.

You also had a gerber question. Most of the files are positive with the exception of the stop mask files. In the case of the stop mask files, it saves data to show areas void of stop mask(Assume whole board covered in stop mask, which most boards are, file only shows where stopmask can't be). On large boards having zero width polygons can cause the CAM processor to take a while but that is the only scenario where the performance of the CAM processor can falter.

Please accept as solution if my post fully resolves or you issue, or reply with additional details if the problem persists.

Sorry for my bad english, I means inner layer, generate positive or negative is a big problem, since I only draw two layer board, I have no experience about it. but someone said that the POSITIVE cause system response very very slow, especially in complex and high density design.

Add the option to have automatic placement of wire names that go into a BUS. The current place name over a wire places the txt IN the wire instead of slightly over it. It is hard to read.

Do you mean when you add a label to a wire after you've attached it to a bus? Otherwise is there a bus net labelling method I am not aware of?

I have my main grid is set to 0.1 inch the alt grid to 0.025 inch. Then when I go to add labels I hold down the alt key when I am placing them and can put them just above the wire.

A utility that automatically labelled a bunch of nets with nicely positioned labels would be a nice addition though. I reckon I could write some ULP to help with that....

Yes, that.

You would need to change the font size if you were to move it. I just grab it, right click 2 times and drop it.

Anyway, what was the point designing it in a way that ADDS work to the user? This is 2017 and primitive computer games could recognize exists in 1994 to place a hover text over a 3D object. With a comment line, may I add? (The text connected with a line to the object.)

I hope you're doing well. I would say try it, in this context I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to.

The only thing that ever slows EAGLE down CAM-wise is if you have zero width polygons. Whenever you make your polygons on the inner layers please make sure to set the width to a value other than 0.
