STEP file not rendering in 3d package editor

Hello forum members,

The following step file is not rendering in the 3d package editor. Not sure if this is due to something at my end. Can someone at autodesk please check. Thanks!

Hello @Anonymous,

This model is actually working, it is just modeled very far away from the origin.

The best thing to do here is to use the 'Set Package Centroid as Pivot' check box.

This will move the origin the the center of the model, then you will see how far away it is (look at the X and Y values)

Then you can change the X and Y values to 0 to bring it into view. Or use the crosshairs-type button in the top left to align the origins,

which will also move it to 0,0.
In the future we will probably have this process more automated.

Hopefully this works let me know if you have any more trouble.

Thanks for your response.

I do not see the specific options you mention. The crosshairs does not do anything. There is not an option to "Set Package Center as pivot". There is an option to "Set footprint center as origin" But this does not seem to lead to anything. Is it possible for you to upload this as an available package in circuits.io? Perhaps then I can just link to that version.

I see the problem. In this version we have released you need to select the model before you can access this option. I say this release because this issue is about to be fixed, but not released yet. For now you have two options. You can try zooming out, you might be able to see the model in the distance and click on it to then change the origin (steps listed above). Or if you can open the model in some program you can fix it (move it to the origin) and re-export it, that should work too. If you still have no luck let me know and I'll see if I can figure something else out.
