Line Default Values

When you click on "Line" there is a box in the tool bar that allows you to choose a line "Width"... There is a pull down box with about 10 or so entries to select from... Are these values stored in a file somewhere so that the list can be edited to contain just the values that you actually use regularly? I know you can add values to the list, but it would be nice to delete the ones that are never used so that only the used values are present.

Hello Bill,

I hope you're doing well. You can specify the widths you want to be part of that list. Go to the eagle control panel > Scripts tree > eagle.scr. This script file is ideal for setting up defaults because it runs every time a new editor is opened. In the file you will find settings that correspond to each of the editors (SCH: , BRD:, LBR:, etc.) . Under the BRD: heading add a new line and type:

SET WIDTH_MENU width1 width2 ... width16;

Where width1-width16 are the widths you want to use in your menu. They are all separated by spaces. After you make the changes go ahead and save the eagle.scr file.

I finally got it to work, and it works perfectly. The problem I had was with Windows 10... Apparently, since the extension is .scr, Windows thinks it is a Screen Saver file and requires Admin permissions to save it.. even when I had admin permission, it wouldn't let me save it to the Eagle scr folder. I finally used an elevated command prompt to allow me to open it in Notepad, modified it and saved it to my desktop.. Then copied it to the Eagle folder, after asserting Admin permissions once again... Sometimes I just hate Windows.
