How to change package using assembly variants?

Hi everyone.

I have a question about, how to change package using assembly variants in my schematic. I have a base schematic and a board with some 1206 SMD components. I would like to change to 0805 SMD components without using replace tool one by one or without redraw all my project. Is there another way to do this?

Hi Gustavoheras,
The assembly variants feature is used to change value or technology only. It cannot be used to change the package of a component, as that would cause conflict from one variant to another. Changing a package is a physical change and would also need to modify the layout.

You may be able to issue CHANGE PACKAGE or CHANGE TECHNOLOGY commands depending on how your libraries are setup.
