Thank you! That was a little confusing on macOS, as the menu is not in a window but on the top of the screen. Anyway it works now.

I would like to edit external libraries, and the folder /Applications/EAGLE-x.x.x/lbr/ is not a great location, because each time I update EAGLE a completely new EAGLE folder is created, so keeping track of zillions of folders with user libraries is not great. However, when I try to edit a symbol in a library at another location, I get the error:

Library lib_name.lbr was not found in current library path(s).

Please adjust the library paths or export the drawing libraries first!

Looking at EAGLE forums here, the answer is supposed to be to go to Options->Directories, however, I can not find that menu option on macOS (EAGLE-8.7.1). However, I can't find that option. I find the menu, "Options", and it has the items "Assign...", "Set...", "User interface..." and "Reset toolbars". No "Directories". How can I "adjust the library paths" on macOS?

Options->Directories is only available in the Control Panel Window, not in the Schematic, Board or Library editor.
