UPDATE 8.7.1: Autodesk EAGLE introduces new serpentine via optimizing router..

Greetings EAGLE community! ...And apologies to all. It seems we'd neglected to mention an essential feature in the 8.7.1 release of Autodesk EAGLE, namely, our new Interactive Via Optimizing Serpentine Router.

As a company committed to your productivity, we felt this feature, accessed in PCB via the command line argument SNAKE, would provide a much-needed feature for eliminating unnecessary vias and increasing the available routing area of your boards.

Spacebar changes layers when using this command and Ctrl/Cmd and the Shift key interactively change the speed. Default start direction is South to North along the Y axis but feel free to presssss an arrow key to change start direction before clicking in the workspace. The 'N' key will add nets back to the design for better visualization of board complexity and the overall difficulty of your design. Enjoy!

For those of you looking for a board to use to test this amazing technology, I have attached a PCB that provides a good platform to test the optimizer's capabilities.
