Hi guys,

Im designing a simple board but I'm not great at routing.
Is there a way to do multiple revisions without having to start over each time (i.e use the rip up command)

I suppose I mean, can I do 2,3 board designs under the same project and choose which board I want to manufacture?

Cheers!
Caleb

Hi @Anonymous,

This is one of two "multiple boards, one schematic" scenarios that get asked about from time to time. Currently, Eagle does not directly support either but for this one there is a work-around.

In the project folder, copy the schematic to a new name, e.g. mySchematic_2.sch

Open that schematic

Create the new board from it.

That way you have multiple boards from copies of the same schematic. Obviously this is a limited work-around, since it doesn't cope with later changes to the schematic. It may also be inappropriate for your use case, since it seems you don't actually want to design multiple different physical shapes of the same board, you just want to have a play.

Thanks @one-of-the-robs

That should work great cheers!
I think the schematic is down pat I just want to try and get the most efficient routing possible and try out a few different configs hopefully before I send it off for manufacture!
