I have not had any issues with complex board shapes and currently working on 10+ designs simultaneously.
They all render in F360 as expected.

Things to check.....
Make sure the bottom left of the PCB is at the x=0 / y=0 origin when creating the profile in F360 or Eagle. Essentially - all geometry to define the outline should have positive XY coordinates.

In F360, make sure the sketch is on the XY plane.

I have had some struggles with push/pull, but this is not one of them....and I have been pushing/pulling designs between Eagle/F360 about 50 times per day for the last couple of weeks. All with complex board shapes.

Hi all;

I think that Push to Fusion has a bug: when I push a rectangular shape pcb, everything transfers right. When I transfer a pcb with non rectangular shape, I don't get correct soldermask color (I get only green), and copper is also not transfered. There's any way to correct or is it indeed a bug?

Please allow me a suggestion: allow transference of other layers to Fusion. There are many info that we would like to appear on 3d model.

Thank you

Hello @mario.brizida,

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for that suggestion. When dealing with complex board shapes it is very important to make sure that the shape of the board is a completely closed contour. You'll know that it works because there will be a difference in color between inside the board and outside the board. If you don't see that color difference then that means the board shape has some sort of gap. Additionally, if you are trying to make a circular board make sure to not just use the circle shape, there is an issue where they are not handled well. For a circular board you have to make the circle with two arcs.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Hi Jorge;

In annex you can see my problem in detail.

PCB holes and component positionning are correct. The problem is that copper and solder mask layers are displaced, as you can see in hole region and left morder of pcb (solder mask should go to pcb border).

At first glance we can conclude that components are displaced, bau they are not. Only copper and solder mask are incorrectly positionned. I don't have means to see if silk screen is also displaced or not.

Strange fact is that this problem only happens on some circuits.

Do you have any solution?

Best regards;

Mário

Hi Jorge;

I just partially solved issue wit my board. I did not define well Dimension layer. Now all board appears, but keeps positionning problem. Looking in more detail, I noticed that components in the middle of board are almost correcly positionned. On extreme left and right are displaced. It seems that copper layer and solder mask layer shrunk (you have indeed a small gap where you see only pcb on both sides of board and solder mask should go just to borders of board). Silkscreen is also displaced. It seems that only holes, dimension and components remain on correct place. In annex I send you detailed images of problem.

Please help!

Regards;

MB

Jorge, engineeringNCMXB (Advocate);

To illustrate problem, I cretated a pcb board which files I send you in annex (Eagle format).

Board bottom left is located on 0,0 as you indicated, I pushed board to Fusion and I have same displacement, as hope you can also see on Fusion generated file "exp v1.f3d"

In my opinion doesn't matter if circuit is complex or not, I think that the problem is linked to large pcb's, There's a small error on board silkscreen, soldermask and pad generation that causes displacement between componet location (that is corrrectly positionned) and pad /silkscreen/soldermask. Notethat my boar has 310mm x 30mm. Copper, silkscreen and soldermask layers seems to be a bit smaller than board, that causes very noticeable errors on near border's board, as.

I don't say that is your fault, but please tell me what i 'm making wrong.

Thank you;

MB

I was curious about this and downloaded the files to look.

It appears that the 3D components are placed correctly, but the pads/soldermask/etc is stretched on the X-axis. When I shrunk the BRD outline from 310mm to 175mm the error was dramatically less, but still not perfect.

I tried different units, but that had no apparent impact. Other than that, the underlying process is abstracted from the user.

Hi;

Regarding problems with soldermask, ther's another issue:

When you have a complex shape, board appears right on Fusion, but you don't get correct shape on soldermask (or copper - I can't identify exactly where is the problem), as you can see in annex image.

Please note that displacement error is higher in pcb borders than in the middle.

Hope you can find a solution for this, because apart of this problem this is a fantastic tool.

Thanks for your atention;

MB

You can fix the issue by making a small change of the board outline. The two small rectangles on dimension layer confused EAGLE/Fusion on how to find the outline shape (See picture below). If you remove the top/bottom edge of the rectangle ( I think the remaining part is what you need), you should get correct result.

Hi yqliu;

Thanks for your reply. Layer 20 (dimension) and layer 21 (tplace) are both passed from Eagle to Fusion. Layer 20 (dimension) is correctly passed, but layer 21 (tplace) has same problem than copper and solder mask layers (seems shrinked).

Hello all;

Nobody gave any feedback about this. It means problem is solved for Autodesk?

I assure that is NOT SOLVED. Today I made a new push from Eagle to Fusion and AGAIN same error.

Another 2 issues:

Soldermask layer is simply not passed to step models Fusion generates.

PCB colour STILL not passed to Fusion (and STEP models).

Please answer my questions, tell me if I'm doing sonething wrong. You have a good product, but has some issues that must be corrected or instructed how to use. No answer always gives a bad image you surely don't want.

Best regards;

MB
