Schematic Editor Freeze after move

Schematic Editor Freeze for about 2 seconds after every move (e.g. move component or net).

I have tried this in a very complex board without being able to reproduce any delay/freeze, so I need to ask some questions: First question are you using the latest 9.2.1? IF not which version?

Also, is it in every file for you, or just a specific file? IF a specific file, can you post it here, or send to me privately so I can try? About the movement, are you moving something in a sch or brd? Are you using MOVE command, or click and drag? Do you use right click context menu to start MOVE, - how do you start MOVE?

I tried both 9.2.0 and 9.2.1, none of them work without the freeze. It's in one specific page of one specific schematic file. attached!

are you by any chance working on a network drive? The file works normally for me, so we need to figure out what is different for you.

I'm working in a bootcamp environment, I'll try to use MacOS later and I'll

Also another question, just to be able to rule out the computer processing power, can I assume it is a relatively new computer, within say the past 5 years, or is it older than that? (I am assuming there is equivalent of an Intel i5, i7, i9 or better processor but let me know if you are working on a ATOM or other less powerful processor found on some machine, or just an old processor pre-i5 for example)

Yes please let us know if the operation is normal when running in OSX .. I would think if it is a boot of windows it should be better performance than for example a VM (which would likely have delays), but i am not an expert on that type of system .. it would be worth checking though if it runs normally in OSX.

Super weird. I figured that every time I encounter this problem, I can
simply solve it by running "group all" once; then everything will be
perfectly fine until I reboot the eagle.

Hi,

I´ve got the same problem. The more components in the schematic sheet the longer freeze is. Already with 48 parts in the sheet, freeze takes approx. 500ms (two parts are user-defined parts, others are from the default library).

Minor freezing is visible in the BeagleBone Black example.

Eagle 9.2.1 Premium

Win 10 Pro

i5-7200U

8 GB RAM

SSD

I found a temporary solution and more details about the problem.

All the hell broke loose when I run group command over any components, after doing a local group, move command begin to have that kind of "after lag". However, if I run a group all, and start to do local editing and moving, everything work just fine.

Which means I can only move single component without trouble since moving group of the components required to group them first (that cause problem!), and I have to run group all to allow me to move single component without issue.

Was this fix in the 9.2.2 release? I am having the same issue on win10, 9.22, AMD FX8350 /16gb RAM and SSD. seems to happen with user-defined parts. I have a few libraries for custom parts not included with the basic installation libraries. I have libraries with a single part, multiple parts, etc. I have updated all libraries but yet the issue persists.

The fix will be in the next release. This bug can be very frustrating we know and we have made changes so this type of bug cannot get through again.

I'm also having the same issue. Its getting impossible to work on any sizable project. What would take minutes is now taking hours to complete. Please let me know when this will be fixed?

I have reverted back to 9.1.3 for now. I do not have the freezing issue with it. I did have many references to old libraries (Library manager show several yellow triangles) but even after resolving those I still had the freezing problem with 9.2.2
