Problem creating new component

I’m trying to create a new component, following the directions on https://www.autodesk.com/products/eagle/blog/library-basics-part-1-creating-first-package-autodesk-eagle/.

However, in my version (9.4.2) I can not find a Package icon (in step 3 of ‘Step 1 – Creating Your New Package’). I found a video showing how to create package, but I don’t have the package icon that is shown in the video.

I did create my own library, and activate it. The library is empty.

I do have icons for device, footprint, and symbol. There is an ‘import 3d package’, where I did find the package generator, but its nothing like this page describes.

Is this a version issue, a configuration issue, or am I just nit understanding the directions.

Any suggestions appreciated.

To possibly answer my own question, I think that a package now appears to be called a footprint....

Yes, you did answer your own question. For some reason they changed "package" to "footprint" and added "3D package" rather than leaving it as it's always been and adding "3D model" which I think would have been much more sensible and avoided package/footprint confusion, but this was all back in the 8.2 days a long long time ago and it all works pretty well these days so hopefully now you've worked out what things are called you can get on ok with creating your parts.
