Hi all,

I am using Eagle 9.4.2 free version. I want to generate .pdf file from eagle schematic having all component details and connectivity details as shown below.

In this PDF, when we click to VIN_EXT_5V then it shows all connection and take you there. This is very helpful for documentation and referencing the same or to understand circuit flow. Also it gives you component details when you click on component.

I have tried export pdf but it gives pdf in which we can search only. Also I have explored and searched on internet but unable to get such. I appreciate guidance for the same.

Thanks and Best Regards

There is currently no way to do this today. Your best path currently is to use XREF tags which will include the page number and frame coordinates of a linked XREF tag.

I asked them earlier this week for table of contents generation with PDF links and they have filed a feature request with the development team. Perhaps the functionality you're referring to could be implemented along with the TOC PDF links as they will use the same underlying software infrastructure.

Hi trey,

Thanks for update. I have tried CHANGE XREF ON but still on printing PDF nothing is there. Can you please define some steps or some reference for the same? On Schematic's label it shows XREF is ON.

Let me be more clear. An XREF label looks like this:

Let's break it down. To the left of the "/" is the net name. To the right are the coordinates for where to find the connection. In this case the label connector to page 28, column 3, row A.

There is no way currently to create links in the PDF from EAGLE. The XREF tag is just the best you can do right now.

I'm honestly not sure. If you absolutely have to have this feature there are competitive programs, but they are order of magnitude more expensive and more difficult to learn. I'm not sure your experience level, but I don't think you really need this feature unless you are doing designs that are 25 page or more schematics.
