How to use quote properly when writing reply?

Good afternoon, everyone!

I know there is Quote icon in the menu.

but when I click Quote, It's loading all of words of answer.

I usually want to quote only 1~2 sentences.

how can I use double quote function?

Yes, it's not the most useful quote function. In fairness, this isn't unique to Autodesk, it's a problem with just about every web-based forum I've used.

The way I do it, annoying as it is, is to hit the quote button then go in and delete all the bits I don't want. To then quote a different bit, I hit quote again, get the whole text again, and go in and remove the stuff I don't want... again. If someone has a better method I'd be happy to hear (read) it!

that's exactly same with me doing. I agree with you, this is somewhat annoying process.

I'm also waiting someone for a better method.

The only other way I know is to insert the quote and switch to the HTML version and then manipulate it by copy/paste of the <blockquote> tags. It's not always obvious though and you can get it totally messed up if you put something in the wrong place or miss a closing tag. I do this occasionally if there is a single long post I want to quote in multiple parts and it is faster, but as soon as that quote starts containing nested quotes it gets tricker to follow so I tend not to do this often.

It's not easy way but your method is maybe helpful in particular case and for everyone.

but, I hope quotation to be more convinient way.

I will also revise my earlier reply a bit. I had said this was a common problem on web fora. That's no longer true. Most of the web fora I follow have now adopted the Invision platform, which provides excellent quoting facilities. AutoDesk should learn from that. Also, most other aspects of how the forum works.

Late to the party here,... I don't know if there is anything in our platform that can be done to make the quoting work any differently than we have all seen so far. But I will raise the issue with our development team so that they know it is something you would find useful.

I've always done it as described above,... quote the whole thing and then delete out what I don't want. Thanks for raising the issue!
