PROBLEM WITH UPDATE OF LIBRARY IN HARD DRIVE

Hi Everyone,

I'm able to create and update library and use it in schematics.

But these changes which I'm carrying out are not getting saved in hard disk. Somehow, changes are not reflected in har drive copy but I can use seamlessly update version every time I want. Please suggest an solution.

Hi Ranjit,

Is this a managed library by any chance? If so, when you refer to the hard drive copy this is likely just the copy of the library as it was before it was "managed" and this is now a redundant file. When you make a managed library a new version of it is squirrelled away in some obscure location that isn't easily accessible and then you use the tools to create/update library versions with respect to the cloud.

Thanks Rachel,
But the problem I'm facing is, I can't use these libraries which I ve
created in other systems. Even I cant retrieve it if I format system. Pl
suggest a way to retreve the lib files created by me.

Hi @Anonymous,

I hope you're doing well. If the library is managed then you should be able to access it on any other computer as long as you log in with your Autodesk account. Make sure that you go library > create new version whenever you make changes to the library.

On another computer login with your Autodesk account and in either editor go to Library > Open Library Manager. Go to the Available tab and find your library there and download it.
