topic WiFi Antenna design in EAGLE Forum

Hello.

Im pretty new in designing PCB's, so please consider me a noob, I have only made one PCB so far - USB 3.2 Gen 1 header.

I would like to make a PCB WiFi/Bluetooth antenna for 2.4/5GHz with 3 connectors (so 3 antennas on signal PCB I guess). This would be used with DW1830 WiFI/BT card.

I have no idea where to start. Maybe someone have prepared similar design and could help me. I want this to be as compact as possible. If that's possible larger in width than in height. Should I make like 3 separate antennas on single PCB? Can I do this on 2 sides? Two on top layer and one on bottom layer. Is there any difference when designing antenna for just 2.4GHz, and for both 2.4 and 5 GHz?

Could you help me with some guidance or similar designs?

Hi,

To better understand RF basics and layout procedures I will refer you to Ti documentation and reference designs, they have the best when it comes to RF, here are some of the links

http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spracg5/spracg5.pdf

http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru370b/swru370b.pdf

http://www.ti.com/rf-microwave/smart-rf-transceivers/reference-designs.html#search?famid=3210
