Cannot launch Eagle 9.5.2 on Linux Mint 19.1

Hello

I am trying to run the latest version of eagle on my desktop under Linux Mint 19.1.

I have tried previous versions and have the exact same errors (8.6.0 and 9.1.3)

I get a "Loading" window which hangs forever.

I have tried various start commands such as

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libxcb-dri3.so.0 ./eagle

QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS=“--ignore-gpu-blacklist” QT_XCB_GL_INTEGRATION=xcb_egl ./eagle

QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS=“--ignore-gpu-blacklist” ./eagle

All of which makes no difference in the behaviour and error messages.

I have also checked my installed packages libx11-xcb1 libxcb-dri2-0 libxcb-dri3-0 libxcb-glx0 libxcb-present0 libxcb-sync1 libxcb-xfixes0

All are properly installed

From the terminal window I see the following errors. It stops at the last line and hangs there.

The NSS reports are a known thing but I can't find the details right now. However, the thing you should try first (as it often fixes things you'd swear (and some people do insist) can't possibly be related) is:

export LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1
./eagle

Issue is solved !

It was my PfSense Ad blocker (pfBlockerNG) which was stalling the login page for the licence manager of EagleCAD.

The error messages from the previous post still appear, but they are not blocking the application.

I could not find a proper description of the settings for pfBlockerNG in order to have the licence manager to connect without issue. I will have to dig a bit more on my router errors to find out the called URL at login.

I came hours late to suggest this. Yes, when you disable the surveillance and ad connections, Eagle will not run.

That is the whole point of SaaS, getting and owning your data.

I was searching for vague error messages, and came here. Your follow-up hit the nail right on the head.

I am getting errors related to other domains, but just whitelisting tags.tiqcdn.com fixed my login issues.

Do note, that this domain is used by other services as well, so you may want to remove that whitelist when not using Eagle.

For others who find this, you can whitelist it by going to Firewall -> pfBlockerNG -> Alerts and pressing "+" next to the domain name.

But I have to say, stuff like this is pushing me even more in the direction of other CAD offerings.
