Hi,

Seeing as I can't drill square holes as suggested in the LED data sheet, how can I draw a short non plated slot for my rear mounted LED footprint?

Thanks,

G

Hi @grahamUTKMN,

I hope you're doing well. There's a couple of things you could do in this scenario. The easiest would be to use a normal hole slightly bigger than width of the square opening (about 13% more diameter to get the same area). If that's good enough for your purposes then you can call it done.

If that isn't enough then you can use the line command on the dimension layer to draw the cutout for the board. That would be the best option in my book if it must be square. A board house can handle these square cutouts without issue.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Hi Jorge,

Thanks for your reply.

I had thought about just using a hole, but the hole would break into the copper pads.

I'll try the slot method and use rounded ends.

Many thanks,

Graham
