Cannot copy managed library part to new library

Hi all,

I am trying to copy a particular Resistor part from the resistor.lbr library (device: R-US_0204/2V) to a new custom library I created (I need to increase the size of the pads on that footprint). I have already created and saved the new library but am stuck on copying the part. Here is what I am doing:

1. in Control Panels select "Use" on both resistor.lbr and my new library

2. Scroll down to resistor.lbr, open it

3. Right click on the part I want to copy

4. Option to "copy to library" is greyed out (see schreenshots)

Searching the forum and the tutorials seems to indicate that this "just works" for other people. Is there something I am doing wrong? I would really prefer to copy parts I use from the Managed Libraries and edit the copied parts to suit my needs but I cannot seem to do so currently.

You don't say whether or not you have this so...

It is necessary that you have your (destination) library open in the library editor.

This is how Eagle knows which library you want to copy the part to, so if you don't have the editor open the option is greyed out.
