So I’m trying to make this magic happen that my boss is convinced worked before, but i guess his system crashed and he lost this stuff.
So what I want is text such as UE (underground electric), to be picked from my tool palette and when I place it on a line it will break the line around it so I looks like this

—— UE ——

Not only should it break the line but it should also be annotative in that no matter what scale I bring it into it’s just the right size text without having to rescale anything.

now ive tried to do this with a block that contains a wipeout. The block is originally on an 1/8” scale drawing and when place on 1/8” it works well. But it needs rescaled if I were to put it on a 1” = 60’ which is a scale these blocks go into often. I made the blocks annotative but that doesn’t seem to be working correctly because the block comes into a drawing being sometimes 20x too big.

but when I made a block from scratch that only contains a text and mark it as annotative it seems to scale properly to any size drawing I have listed. But then it doesn’t have the wipeout so it doesn’t mask or break the lines.

I am at a complete loss and I’m under a bit of pressure to make this work, any help would be appreciated

-apparently a magician

They really aren't that hard to create, and if the text is based on an annotative style, you're all set.

... added an alignment parameter!

Well, a lot of "fine tuning" is still possible. I mainly wanted to show an example which hides the objects behind and is scaled automatically to the current scale factor. Whether @tjo9185 wants always aligned text or always horizontal text - I (we?) don't yet know that 😉
