Polar Stretch and Array Parameters

Can anyone please help give me some idea how to recreate the attached functions I want to be able to lengthen the chain and have the array insert links, I have managed to get it to work using just the array and a liner stretch put i want the polar stretch so i can put the chains at different angles.

Hi Libbya, i want to recreate how the work with a new drawing, I have another set of chains that I need to get the Array and Stretch functions working on together, if you do a block test of the front view you will see how they stretch and the array function fills in the links as you go. i can do it with a liner stretch but as soon as I use polar it goes wrong.

The last screencast I posted shows how to do what you are looking for. Here's another screencast showing the same process to get your more recent block working.

Hi Libbya, thank you, i have tried it a few time and i can get the polar part working but the Array on the links doesn't work. I think I just need to keep trying until I get it. thank you

It could help to play the screencast fullscreen, at 1/2 speed, keep an eye on the command line, and pause often. If you re-post the block after you have tried to implement what I show in the screencast, I can probably tell you exactly what you are missing.

Hi, I tried again today but no luck, I cannot get it to work, I lose it a little in the middle part when you area adding the distances into the properties I'm not sure I'm doing that correctly.

I have attached my attempt.

You were very close. Only one mistake. The window for the polar stretch action needs to surround one point of the chained linear parameter. Adjust the window and it works fine. See screencast.
