Problems with Autocad Dynamic Block Attribute field

Good day,

I have a problem when using fields in dynamic blocks.

First, everything is good. I create a block and insert attribute with field:

But when I place attribute and open it again field is gone:

What could be the cause for this?

On the field screen, bottom right corner, "Display value for block reference" needs to be checked. Post the block file with your field inserted into the attribute if you would like further assistance.

I had no trouble adding the field and having it 'stick'. That said, it looks like you have the attribute referencing the value of the attribute. That is just a circular reference. What functionality are you looking to achieve?

Problem here that for some colleagues fields work just fine, but for others (like me) it's not working. It just leaves attribute value.

Main problem is that we use sheet set. And we use block with project information linked trough fields (address, revision number, etc.). Now I have to do it manually because fields don't update, they just leave first value or ######.

Also attached another file. It's a block with attributes for panel length and height. If I create it on my computer it just leaves UpdatedDistancexUpdatedDistance instead of B and H values.

That next block works fine for me. Updates to the geometry followed by a REGEN updates the field values appropriately. Does your version of CAD have all updates installed? What is your FIELDEVAL sys variable set to? Considering I can't replicate your issues, you haven't given much of anything else to go on in order to assist you. I'm not sure what else to suggest. Maybe make a video of your field creation process and block insertion process that shows the failure of the fields.

FIELDVAL is set to 31.

Here is video of how I am making a block.

I put B and H dimensions on rectangle. Add stretch functions. After that I make attribute to show B and H values as I stretch it. But instead of it shows UpdateDistancexUpdateDistance. If I click on attribute again, fields are gone and just shows UpdateDistancexUpdateDistance.

I looked at the video and when I do the exact same steps it works fine for me. I have to assume that it is an issue with the specific workstation or ACAD installation.

It was a problem with workstation. Or specifically with Windows 11. I changed to older model with Windows 10 and works fine.
