topic Dynamic Locker block with array and door swing flip not working in Dynamic Blocks Forum

I have made a plan locker block that can be arrayed with visibility states to control the widths and a stretch action to control the depths. these all seem to work fine. My issue is with the flip actions. I want to be able to control the direction of the door swing uniformly, no matter how many lockers have been arrayed. For the most part it works, but after you array, flip, then array again, the doors end up in a different position. Any ideas as to why?

Hi @andrewS8MRQ ,

that is indeed a tricky thing 🤔.

I had a look at the block and from experience, the more dynamic parameters you add the more dependencies are created. Throw in the "array" in that makes it even more complex.

That being said, I was able to get it to work to a "better" degree, so the display, even though initially odd, it reverts back to the expected once the array grip is used again. You can see what I mean in the following GIF.

For the Dynamic Block definition I do think that you should add all the geometric components of the block to the FLIP parameter, as this keeps the geometry "together", and that is essentially what I changed from your original block definition.

I hope that improves the usability of this kind of block for you 😁.
