Dynamci Blocks with steel angle shapes

Trying to create a steel angle dynamic block. Attached is a drawing showing the steel angle with its table showing sizes and length. Can't get it to stretch. Also don't know if I will have a problem with the radius of all the angle sizes. Using the sample files as a template. Please help me file in the blanks.

I suggest you start playing with much simpler concepts until you understand the process. You used a block table instead of a lookup table. The block table is used to relate dimensional parameters but you used dynamic block parameters instead. The dynamic block parameter sets you placed were backwards and the actions were not set.

If you want to keep the block table, add dimensional parameters and constraints. If you want to use dynamic block parameters, then start from the insertion point and work away from that. Set up the actions to include objects and add a lookup table.

Here's a single angle iron with chooseable sizes. There are no adjustable radii. Just a couple stretches for the legs and one for thickness.

I'm not sure I understand you. Don't know the difference between block table and the lookup table? If I go with the block table how do I add the dimensional parameters and constraints? Do you have a sample I can look at? Or can you modify the attached file I send early?

Either block properties table or lookups can be used to control dynamic parameters. Lookups cannot control parametric constraints.

There are a tremendous number of examples of both on this forum. Dig in. The AutoCAD help files also go into good detail. There are free YouTube videos on dynamic blocks.

The number of items on the list makes the block irritating and dysfunctional. I would split it into a column for width and a column for height so you don't have to click 400 times to get to the one at the bottom of the list. Is Tw the thickness?

That angle block could certainly be done. It would be a fair amount of work.

see attached, once you figure out the placement of the stretch polygons, it is fairly easy.

Here's a step-by-step screencast that shows how to set up your particular block with the various parameters and actions to adjust the geometry. It also shows how to add a lookup to control the geometry. You would need to fill out the table with the correct values for the various parameters to complete the block.
