I cannot know for sure what the issue is without looking at the block, but I imagine you need to add the stretch actions (only the ones with altered angle offsets) to the flip action's selection set. In order to be able to add them to the flip selection set you need the system variable BACTIONBARMODE = 0.

Hi,

I'm trying to make a Elbow fitting with insulation lines to be shown. I have to use scale action but limiting the insulation line at certain width . But when i use scale it expands as well with the propotion of scale.

I tried to use dimensional constraints but it distorted shape.

Please anybody suggest how should i approach this problem

I tried Alignment parameter but it changed hatch angle

Waiting for your reply

Align parameter will rotate the entire block including the hatch.

With the chained parameters/actions I do not know a way to make it rotate/flip properly. It might be doable, but if possible, would require more time to sort out than I can donate.

I gave this a bit more thought and came up with a solution. I knew that the issue with the rotate and flip actions was that the chained point parameters with stretch actions were activated when flipped or rotated, skewing the line work. I thought that if I could eliminate the chained point parameters then the flip and rotate could be added. The chained linear parameters only have scale actions associated and scale actions are not activated when the associated parameter is flipped/rotated/moved because the parameter does not change size and size is what matters to a scale action. Because of this, the chained linear parameters can be flipped/rotated without issue.

In order to eliminate the chained point parameters, I knew that I would need to create their relative actions based directly on the change to the Distance1 parameter. This screencast shows how I did so. After the chained point parameters were eliminated, the rotate and flip actions were relatively easy to add. See attached screencast for the step-by-step.

Why do you have the separate visibility states for 'Below 300' and 'Above 300'. It seems they are the same aside from how far the linear parameter can stretch. Why don't you just have the full stretch range and not require switching?

In the video you will notice that i draw a PL at the grip of the controlling linear parameter. I make the PL 1 unit in length. In the test block window I draw two more PLs, one from each outer corner. I then stretch the block and snap to the other end of the 1 unit PL. I then snap the outer ends of the two other PLs to the outer corners in their scaled position. Those added two PLs now are the length of the distance offset and the angle of the angle offset for the two stretch actions.

I don't know of any documentation other than the AutoCAD help files.

The gist of a single lookup is that when the block is adjusted so that the 'input properties' match a row on the table, the 'lookup property' is changed to that row. When a table 'allows reverse lookup' and has a grip visible, a user can click the grip and select a lookup row. The lookup will then force the input parameter values to match that row.

A double lookup takes that concept a step further. There are two tables associated with the lookup parameter. One of the tables is used as an 'input' table and the other must allow reverse lookup and is used as an 'output' table. When the block parameters are adjusted, the input table is used to determine the row. The lookup property names must match on input an output tables. The output table will adjust the parameters to match the selected row.

Make sense?
