Array, Polar Stretch, and Rotate used on one block

Hello,

I am trying to figure out the most effective way to make a lattice boom and cab of crane rotate while the tracks remain stationary...and also allow the ability to stretch the boom and once stretched filled in with Xs which make up the lattice.

I figured first step would be to make the tracks as one block and then boom/carbody as another block. But it seems not to work the way I want when I apply the parameters and actions.

Please advise proper step by step.

At The attachment you can find a mobile crane with some features

extended crane boom (2 extensions) with rotation feature .
Rotated Crane vehicle with Separate Rotation grip.

I made each one alone first the combined them in one block.

Note:

i but some limitation for the extended distance for the boom .

This is exactly what I was thinking! Is there any way you can walk me through how you did all this in bedit?

Also a side note, how did you add the hatch in bedit?

First Tomorrow i will record screen-cast for you about how to make it

Second for the hatch you can make it but it have to be Associative with the shape " i will record it too" ...

And don`t forget to mark it as solution

Awesome. Thank you. I have attached one crane in particular I was working on. I haven't made it as aesthetically pleasing as yours yet but that will come in short order!

I also attached a crane where I am trying to add a boom that that when I extend the boom it will array the lattice (Xs) like the crane in red.

I seem to be having some issues with the array function to the X-Object of the boom. See attached document (green crane). For whatever reason when I stretch the boom in test block the X goes away instead of appearing in increments? Please advise.

The problem here you did n`t assign a distance type .. See attached photo .. when you assign it to increment with distance " better to be more than the exact distance of the parameter in your example the parameter distance is 48.7338 you can make it 48.7400 " .

you can assign maximum distance as you like but the minimum will be same the parameter distance 48.7338 .

It still doesn't work when I add "increments" and make the changes as noted. It just disappears. See attached.

The problem with you box ( X block ) remove it and insert it again then modify the array selection and chose It again .. it will work ok ..
