I actually figured out an easier route without any exploding thanks to you paving the way.

1. Edit Attribute Definition for S_, right click in Default: and insert field.

2. Select "Formula", right click in Formula: and insert field.

3. Click "BlockPlaceholder" and select the appropriate "Distance". Change your Format: to Decimal, Precision: to 0, hit OK.

4. Formula should display "UpdatedDistance". Next to that write "/1.5" and hit "Evaluate".

5. The Format table in the top right should populate. Select "Decimal" and change precision to 0.

DONE

Hi guys,

I have a dynamic block that arrays with the stretch command to indicate "plys". I've been trying to experiment with Fields more, and I'm wondering if its possible to get my field to display the number of plys instead of the distance.

Thanks,

Oli

If its your "S_" attribute, try editing the attribute, insert field, formula, object, pick block - s1 distance, divide "/1.5" ?

Then make a block of that. Insert that block exploded and the attribute is already assigned the field. I changed the parameter to increment min of 1.5 left max at 7.5

Sorry, I don't mess with attributes much so I have to muddle thru every time. I'm sure there's a lot of attribute gurus floating around in here that have better suggestions

This is exactly what I needed! Could you please provide a tutorial with screen shots of how you did this? After "insert field" I click on "formula" and I get lost from there. Thank you!
