I am trying to create a dynamic block that allows the calculated area of a boundary that is shown be multiplied by some value inputted by the user.

I have extracted the area of the poly-line via a via and is displayed on the block.

How do I create a field that can have user input?

I would like that user inputted value to be multiplied by the area the block has calculated.

I would recommend using a user parameter. You can make/define one using Parameters Manager. You can then use a formula field to multiply the two values.

I have created this block with the following:

item #1 is the area of the polyline

item#2 is the user input for the weight to be applied to that area

item #3 would be the result of the user defined input multiplied by the area.

Item#3 is the weight on that area I need to know.

My issue now is that when i change the user inputted value, the load (item #3) does not change.

It seems as the multiplier does not update even after a REGEN or ATTSYNC command.

The attached block has two working version. The one on the left uses an attribute for user input. The one on the right uses the user parameter (edited in properties).
