Hi All,

I have a family of dynamic blocks and each has about 30 visibility states. I'm concerned that there may be objects in some of the blocks that are not used in any of the visibility states and would like to delete them but I don't know how to find them.

Is there any way to find objects in a dyn block that are not visible in any visibility state?

TIA,

I don't know of any way to automatically select objects that are not visible in any state. The best I can suggest is to open the block in block editor, set the block editor visibility so it shows only items visible in the current state, select all (control-A) and MOVE a set distance in a specific direction (e.g. 100') so that objects in that visibility state would be far outside the normal view of the block. Do the same for each of the visibility states. After moving all objects that are visible in each of the states, set the block editor visibility to show all objects. If any objects are in the normal block area, then they are not visible in any state. When you are done dealing with those objects, move all the previously moved objects back the same distance in the opposite direction so they are all back where they were.

Libbya's solution is great but I prefer not to move objects. I simply change the color (well, all my colors are "ByLayer" so I just change the layer), on objects until I find objects visible in more than one state, not visible at all, etc..

By changing color(layer) there is the possibility of overlapping linework that does not show up with a color change.
