Dynamic block with attribute text

I just started using dynamic blocks at my job. The guy who started them abruptly left and I am trying to figure them out. I'm trying to edit a text in the block. Right now it reads "B-26" with the B standing for beam and the 26 as the length of the cable. We use beams (B) and slabs (S) to register tendons in our post tension foundation slabs. I'm trying to change the B to an S and keep the distance. The 26 changes depending how long I stretch the cable to. Can anyone help me out with this? I've attached a picture for clarity.

Attaching the drawing itself would help. Then we can look at the block, instead of just a picture.

If posting an actual drawing is against your company policy. Put the block in a blank drawing and post that

It looks like the B is part of a field. If you could post a drawing with the block in then I can have a look at it.

See attached. It's two on the left side named "B-50". The green one is correct. The blue one should be named "S-50" I ended up copying and renaming the green beam tendon and never noticed it was still labeled as B.

I also apologize if I'm not being clear. I haven't worked with these blocks enough yet to figure them out, and am at a loss since the guy left here without showing me how he did them.

You're still not posting the actual .dwg file. All you're doing is attaching images which does not help

It just needed the prefix changing in the field. See the image below. I've also attached the modified drawing for you.

When you changed the field, did you do it while in the BEDIT command? I appreciate the help but I would like to know how to do it in the future.

Yes I did it whilst in the block editor. That way if there is more than one block in the drawing they will all change at the same time.

If it is done in the actual drawing all the blocks would need to be changed individually.

I am trying to edit another dynamic block to change the attribute like you have done with the original block. My question is where is the "display value for block reference" option coming from? I'm on AutoCAD 2018 and when I follow your steps that option doesn't show.

In the block editor double click on the attribute you want to edit. Then right click on the field "Default Value" and then choose EDIT FIELD
