Greetings. I am just returning to Dynamic Blocks after a long spell of no free time...

I have an issue where I cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME understand why my annotative text is not working properly in any of my non-annotative blocks. I must be missing something fundamental in my understanding of the process/procedure.

Take for instance this post:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/dynamic-blocks/annotative-attributes-in-a-non-annotative-block/m-p/6345702

Using the block supplied by Libbya in the answer on 05-24-2016 04:31 PM, I can clearly see the top block in the CAD file is non-annotative but has annotative text. As you change the drawing scale in modelspace, the text behaves as expected.

Now, if I copy the Attribute in that block and have two identical attributes (the original plus my exact copy) one would think they would both be annotative and work being identical? Alas, they are not! The one I created only displays on one scale, and is hidden for all the rest... while the original attribute scales for all of them.

What am I doing wrong? Where is my understanding faulty? I've tried ATTSYNC, BLOCKRESET, verifying the scales exist in my copy attribute and the attribute itself is annotative, etc.

Thank you.

Posting a drawing with the offending items generally helps.

BUT attributes need to have unique tags. You cannot have two attributes in a block called "Banana". One needs to be called "Banana" and the other needs to be called "Apple"

Here is a very simple one I made rather then the one referenced in the link.

Why does the annotative Text work, but the annotative attribute not? It will display for 1/8" scale, but any other scale the attribute disappears while the text object scales.

Try the attached drawing, and just make the turn the left hand icon on.

All I did was copy your block into a blank drawing and then turned the middle icon on and change to all the feet/inches scales, and it looks like it's added them to the block.

That is really weird that I need to do that... but it works.

If I set AnnoSetScale to 1 and then apply each scale I want the block to work for... it still works even if I turn off the AnnoSetScale property (set back to -1) .

Thanks for the solution / workaround!

For extra credit... why does Anno Text work differently then Anno Attribute?
