Video Tutorial for Creating 3D Dynamic Blocks

Here's two videos I made on creating 3D dynamic blocks, which are super useful but tricky to make. I thought I should share the knowledge!

I didn't realize you could do 3d dynamic blocks!

I have been working in 3d in AutoCAD since AutoCAD 2000

and 3D in Inventor since 2004

I do almost all of my 3d work in Inventor now since it is SO much better than autocad in 3D.

On a freelance basis I use Inventor 2018 plenty

At work I use AutoCAD and very rarely Inventor

I will be investigating making 3d dynamic blocks for work

If you look closer at the examples above you will see, that this are not really 3D Dynamic Blocks. There is no dynamic in Z-direction. It is only a dynamic 2D-Geometry with a constant elevation (Extrusion) in Z-direction. And it is also restricted to Surfaces (because we can create surfaces which are assoziative to their (2D-)source geometry. For 3D-Solids this will not work.
@garylzimmer did a good job to show us this possibility and I appreciate it. But I guess in the practical work we will rarely can use it.

You are absloutely right, of course.

Still nothing in Autocad to beat Inventor 3d parametric solid modelling.

That is the way I always go if I have a choice
