Dynamic Revision Block

I'm looking for a solution to a dilemma I have with my companies revision block, while at the same time trying to build in traceability.

I've developed a dynamic table block, which uses the default six lines of revision, which needs to remain as such and now I'm trying to figure out how to make it so when the revision goes above six lines I can get the new lines, plus a previous five lines to remain in the visible section of the table.

Does anyone out there have any viable suggestions, which doesn't involve using spreadsheets for this event? One of the rules I've been given is to ensure the drawing remains isolated from other software callups.

I've attached the file, as can be noted, the revision table remains static, the drag only highlights the next line of text in the sequence, which is where I want to look at dragging the most recent six lines down every time to remain in the visible portion of the revision table.

Check out the attached file. I added revisions G and H visibility states with attributes and linework for each.

I also made the linear parameter move in increments of 6.5 and a max of 52.

Some time ago I made some block for someone here in forum - see attachment. May be it is usable for you.

Red part is part what is printed and where you can change values for attributes

Green part doesn't printed and attributes get values from red part (don't forgot REGEN)

Unfortunately, this isn't quite what I am after as it just extends to the revision block above the sixth line, which with the way our drawing template is set I cannot do. Pitty, as this would be the simplest way forward.

This looks promising, just a quick query, would you happen to know if the drag function on the block would still be useable or would I have to change it so the revision line would need to be selected?

Not a big issue, just trying to make this foolproof as a few of the guys here aren't very cluey on how ACAD works.

Hi ojuris,

Apologies for this, Either I'm missing something in the process, or my knowledge isn't as good as I'd like it to be with this concept. Is it at all possible I could get some pointers or even a start on making our revision block work the way we're trying for?

I realise it's potentially asking for a lot, but I either need some basic steps on setting this to work, or an overall shove in the right direction.

Here's a new attempt. This one uses a point move parameter/action to move the 6 entries once the linear parameter goes to the 7th and 8th revision. The Y value is added to the table and the 1st and 2nd revisions are removed from the visibility states as needed for the 7th and 8th.
