DWF is paper prints on your computer: you can edit them about as much as you can paper prints.

>>>...We were supposed to receive editable files...<<<
If that's a contractual agreement, go back to them. If it's not, you need to contact them and discuss options.

Hallo,

I am working in general-contractor company (civil works). We were supposed to receive editable files from our architect, but architect send us *.DWF files, which we can not even open in DWG True-view.

My Questions are:

- How can I open *.DWF files? (I do not have ACAD installed, only the DWG True-view.)

- Are the *.DWF files fully editable as *.DWG files? Or are *.DWF editable at all?

Thank you for help / advice.

JV

Hi @Anonymous

In my experience we cannot edit the DWF files once it is published.

So if you want to edit the file, you should ask your customer to get the DWG files.

How to open the DWF files : Autodesk® Design Review software

You can install the above software and cab be view as a free of cost.

More details : https://www.autodesk.com/viewers/dwf
