creating subgrade surfaces with SAC

Hello

Here you can find my Typical section. Problem is creating below surfaces(or layers) from datum surfac. If my Platform has more than 3m fill i have to add 3 more surfaces under my datum. 40cm-40cm-variable offsets. target points are important. they dont have same widths.

Is it possible with SAC.

In Subassembly Composer you can use a Surface Link to drape a link over the EG Surface, then add another Surface Link with a certain Depth to create the soil improvement thickness. You will need to set the VBA expression to previously located points or auxiliary intersection points for the Start and End X

The surface link in unique, in that it will add many points in your corridor to follow your EG Surface as needed.

Based on the sketch you provided, I think the attached subassembly may work for you. Unzip the attached file and review it in Subassembly composer first to get familiar with my coding and parameter names, then test it out and let us know if it works for your project.

other question. if i want to do it without lanes. only with 2 surfaces. means datum and existing ground. Is it possible. Because i have too much subassemblies. And define it to all of them a bit long and hard.

Hi @Anonymous

In theory, you can just delete the first portion of the PKT file that defines the lane then just reattach the flowchart! But I would be cautious in Civil 3D, I am not entirely sure how well your corridor is going to behave if you have two assemblies attached to the same baseline! I don’t think that would make for a very good modeling practice!
