But isolating an object (hiding the object) will hide the object from every viewport in the drawing. Even from the model space. I need to hide an object within a specific viewport only (or in model space) without turning off the entire layer for that object and unhide it anytime I want without affecting other hidden objects.

I wish civil 3D had an option to freeze an object in model or viewport. I know how to freeze a layer or multiple layers, but sometime I need to freeze only one object within a layer. I don't want to create a whole new layer for one object only and then freeze it. If there is any update about this in 2021, please share.

Thank you all.

You can't freeze selective objects in a layer. There are add-on object visibility tools that can set objects visibility to off, then the only way to turn them back to visible is to set all hidden objects to visible (since you can't select them).

You can isolate an object with the _isolateobjects command. There is also a button for it on the status bar.

I usually use a combination of Wipeouts and duplicate objects on a non-plotting layer. A layer set to a color that has 0% Screening. Not a layer set to no-plot. Then either establish layers for the wipeouts that you can turn on and off or use display order to move them above or below the object.
