Hi @pbejse

Select all the Surface labels (preferably with Select Similar) and change the surface reference noted in the AutoCAD Properties Pallete to the new LandXML surface that was just imported. Alternatively, create a new "Final" Surface as a container and insert the LandXML Surface in to it (using the Paste Surface command), label this "Final" surface; if and when a new LandXML surface is imported, simply remove the last definition from the "Final" surface and paste the new surface in; the labels are all referencing the "Final" so it becomes easy to change the definition at any point in time!

Hope this helps,

Hi All,

Is there a way to keep my contour levels when i re-import a new version of a previous LandXML file?

Right now whats happening is , i have to re-label everything again when i received a new XML file and redo everything including the boundaries.

What is the correct procedure to avoid the user from re-doing everything again?

If you were to consider third party add-ons, the Contour Labels tool in DotSoft's C3DTools will export Contour Label Groups to an external file for re-importing (using the same tool) into any other drawing.

You should be changing the path in the surface definition to the new xml file. You should not need to re-create the surface. See the image below. Find your xml operation, scroll over and click the folder. Go get the new file.
