topic Vertically Offset a 3d Polyline in Civil 3D Forum

Hi, I'm looking to offset a 3D polyline vertically, is there a specific command to do this. I could edit each polyline individually but as it is a large document this would take a long time. Thanks

Home tab>Create Design panel>FeatureLine>Create Feature Line from Stepped Offset (_AeccOffsetFeature). It works on 3DPOLYs too. The offset distance is horizontal, so 0.0 for vertical.

Also, if it is truly vertical you can just copy or move the 3DPOLYs, select any point for base point, enter @0,0,Z where Z is the change in elevation. The above command allows for horizontal offset as well as vertical.

Convert the 3d polyline into a feature line.

Then use the raise/lower option.

Then explode the feature line to get the 3D polyline back.

I don't think either one of you answered his question properly. Use the move command and select as many as you want then give it the @0,5 to raise all polys 5'. (substitute proper number for 5)

Man I am glad you posted this. I cant beleive I didnt know this before. I have always done all kinds of gymnastics with offset to make this happen myself. Today was a day worth waking up for!
