topic Pipes missing from Pipe Network data shortcut reference in Civil 3D Forum

Hi all,

I have a data shortcut reference that's missing all the pipes. The structures are there, but the pipes are all gone(see attached image). Does anyone know why?

This data shortcut has been there for a while and everything was fine with the reference until today out of blue the pipes are gone. I checked the source drawing and can verify that the pipes and structures are still in the source drawing. I audited the file, which took a very long time (20 min or so), then I deleted the old data shortcut and re-created it. Then in a blank dwg I reference the new data shortcut and the pipes are still missing.

Not sure if this complicates the situation, the data shortcut folder is on projectwise (pw), and sorry can't share the file publicly.

Follow up on the same issue. I audited the source drawing again and it took more than 1 hour to finish the audit and all the pipes are deleted. (I opted yes to "fix error"). Below is the audit log.

Fix any errors detected?

What version of C3D are you using? I think there was a bug with an older version where the pipes brought in from a data shortcut wouldn't show. If that's not the case, then try exporting the pipes to a LandXML, reimporting them, and try creating a data shortcut and data reference from it.

I almost guarantee your parts list in the dwg you're bringing the pipe network into isn't the same as the source dwg.

-Delete the network

-Drag your parts list from your source dwg into this one

have your dwg you're bringing the network into open as well as your source dwg

Toolspace (master view) >settings tab (navigate to source dwg)>Pipe Network>Parts List>

click and drag pertinent parts list for your network into the dwg you're bringing the network into

    Recreate the data reference

You can also use a Reference template to do all this
