      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am trying to import a point file that has long and lat not a format I've had to deal with yet so I made a new point file format.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;when trying to use the new format it says does not match point file format but the previewer is showing everything is correct.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I upload CSVs daily without issue.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;is there a trick to uploading in a long lat format? or is there something deeper at play I am missing here?&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Is there also a hidden gotcha where, if you have the .csv file open in Excel then C3D will refuse to import it?&amp;nbsp; It's been a while since I've used it, but I recall that there's no specific error message telling you to close the file.&amp;nbsp; C3D will just report the operation failed with no reason given.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Then open your csv in notepad an check it . Coma should be delimiter and decimal delimiter should be point. If you have head column titles , remove it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Save it as csv file. Then try to import it in civil.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Shayne,&lt;BR /&gt;You'll need to assign a coordinate system before using a point file with Lats and Longs. Your point file format needs to be "DECDEG Lats" and "DECDEG Longs".&lt;BR /&gt;Dave&lt;/P&gt;
