Without using a Field? Also without AutoLISP? I could do it that way, but I still use Fields. To make the name insert when you add the assembly, what I do is copy a previous assembly and its name field.

I'm curious, why don't you want to use Fields?

In the pic attached, there is no Field while inserting the assembly the name inserted dynamic
I'm curious, to know how
Thanks for your time Sir

I'm not aware of a way to do that in the standard release package. There may be something in a country kit, its hard to know everything in those unless you work with them.

Thanks.

it can be done, but it is going to take custom programming to get it done. I would say that it might be difficult to find the program that was used, unless you talk to whom you received the drawing from. Sincpac can do it, but it uses a field. I wrote a Lisp routine that can do it, but I used a field. I can't see the point of reinventing the wheel, when you can pull the info directly into a field so that it is dynamic. Any other sort of programming would have to somehow link the text to the assembly, and if someone who doesn't have the program running changed the name, the text would not update. By using a field, you don't need the program for the text to stay current.

In the image that was taken, the field background wasn't turned off, was it?

That's what I was going to ask. How does OP know that is not a field we're seeing? Maybe you can post your drawing?

I was just noticing that the intersection tool has a section to specify an assembly set to use for the intersection and will load that set of assemblies into the drawing. In doing so it adds a name tag below each one that matches the name of the assembly. The taga are just Mtext with no fields. Its not dynamic but it does get created automatically when the assembly set is loaded.

The assembly set is stored as a single dwg file for each assembly and an XML file that organizes them in a 'set'. Each dwg file is named the same as the the assembly within. I imagine the name tags are coming from either the individual dwg files or from the XML. (the name tags aren't in the dwg files) But still, its not dynamic.
