My answer is you should get shots on the centerline. Otherwise it's not an As-Built.

Hi,

There are any suggestions to create as built model using Civil 3D.

What can be the best possible way so that we can have the center line profile

and they match with the road edges as per the cross fall.

Regards

Yes,

Actually the roads are already constructed.

I have to create as built drawings.

The client needs plan and profiles.

I was thinking how the center line profile will match with road edges as per survey respecting the cross fall of the road design..

In short what is the best form of data i can request survey team to prepare as built.

Regards

As-built can mean something to one and something to another. Not exactly sure what you mean that the center line profiles match the edges? In my experience all three at usually different

I concur with @neilyj666 . Get an as-built survey / dtm

I got levels for Median edges and road edges.

Based on that need to recreate civil 3d model.

I understand that i can create a surface and add these edges as break lines to create the surface.

But my issue is the client is asking for road profile based on this data .

Regards

Hi @shabeer.pace

Greetings!!

here are some suggestions to create an as-built model using Civil 3D and match the centerline profile with the road edges as per the cross fall:

Import data: Start by importing the relevant data into Civil 3D. This could include survey data, LiDAR data, or existing drawings.

Create surface models: Create surface models for the existing ground, the proposed road edges, and the centerline. These surface models will be used to generate the as-built model.

Align the centerline: Align the centerline profile with the existing ground using corridor modeling tools. This will help to ensure that the road is properly graded and that the cross fall is correct.

Generate cross sections: Generate cross sections along the centerline to visualize the proposed road edges and the cross fall. This will help to identify any areas where the road edges do not match the cross fall.

Adjust the road edges: Adjust the road edges as needed to match the cross fall. This may involve grading the existing ground or adding fill.

Create the as-built model: Once the centerline profile and road edges match the cross fall, create the as-built model. This model will be a representation of the existing road conditions.
