Thank you so much for your ideas!, the Corridor regions could work.

I am not sure how to change the geometry at the start and end of an assembly, I am not sure if this is possible.

Hello!, I'm new to the Forum.

Thanks in advace for helping me in this inquiry.

I'm trying to create an Assembly that can behave like this Drainage:

They are supposed to be placed flush under the surface, and follow the surface cotornum, they are stepped downspouts for drainage.

I am not sure how I should do it in Subassembly, since, I understand that the Subassembly, is more like an extrusion, you could not vary how it behaves along the alignment.

It is also that they are embedded with each other,

Thanks again!

You can divide the Alignment into Regions and handle the Assembly specifically for each region. You can create Transitions for each Region. The only thing I can't see a way to do is to handle the overlap. Maybe someone else will have an answer.

I see two possibilities, depending on what your final result needs to be.

1. Use a block arrayed along a 3d Polyline.

2. Use @AllenJessup 's suggestion but use 2 corridors with the same baseline on top of each other and with alternating regions. That would be the 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc., Tiles in one corridor and the 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc. in the other corridor. It might be possible to do one corridor with 2 base lines, but both base lines the same entity. You could use an alignment and profile or a feature line for the corridor(s).

If you have 2024 there is built in Transition Management.

Otherwise there are Other Methods.

I would usually Target Featurelines. I haven't watched this but it should cover targeting.

I believe you could use the method described in the solution in THIS thread to make overlapping regions as described by @cwr-pae

You'd need a Width Target and an Elevation Target.
