Civil 3D - SECTION AND CROSS SECTION

JUST EAGER TO KNOW WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SECTION AND CROSSSECTION IN MODIFY SECTION TAB, I HAVE ATTACHED THE SCREEN SHOT HERE

Hi Sir , Here I have attached the screen shot , its section properties , while click the section properties , its drop down 2 options they are - 1 . Section properties , 2. edit section style .if i click first one 1. its prompt for selection section , if i click the second one now it prompt select cross section . what is the difference sir .

Hi @raymondkingsly, whenever you are working with cross sections you'll need to know there are two main let's say classifications: The "section", and the "section view". The section view is just the grid and offset/elevation labels. However, the cross section or section, is every object that shows up on a section view, say a surface section. From those options you can modify individually the properties/style of surface sections. So, no matter the prompt, the software is asking you to select a surface section. The term section and cross section are used interchangeably

There are also corridor sections which you can only modify their properties using these same commands you are enquiring about.

Hi sir , the concept is clear now _ (So, no matter the prompt, the software is asking you to select a surface section. The term section and cross section are used interchangeably)noted this points and remaning brief clear elloborations .
