I think this needs a Data Shortcuts Guru. They can be Validated and broken links can be repaired, but how to best set up Data Shortcuts to achieve your specific objective is beyond my expertise. I'm a noob when it comes to using Data Shortcuts.

I do know that if all of the project files are included in your etransmit zip file then you will be able to return the set to its original condition by repairing broken links if there are any after unzipping. If the zip source files remain in their original location and you try to repair broken links that may not work because the links are not seen as broken. In that case you can zip the current status of the etransmit zip source files, delete them, and restore your etransmit zip and there should be no problem.
